Privacy Policy

Lumio ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Location data. Lumio requests your precise location (when in use) to rank nearby venues by sun score in real time. We do not store your location on our servers. Location is used only on-device and in anonymous API requests to weather services.

Usage data. We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or behavioural data. We do not use any third-party analytics SDK.

Crowd reports. When you submit a crowd signal (sunny/cloudy feedback), a timestamped record is stored in Firebase Firestore. This record contains no personally identifiable information — only the venue identifier, the signal, and a timestamp.

Purchases. Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We never see or store your payment information.

User preferences. Settings such as saved places, alert thresholds, and subscription status are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. They are not transmitted to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To rank and display nearby sunny venues in real time.
• To send local notifications when you enable Smart Alerts (Premium).
• To aggregate anonymous crowd signals and improve venue scores.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Open-Meteo. We request weather data from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) using your approximate coordinates. Open-Meteo does not receive any personally identifiable information. See their privacy policy at open-meteo.com.

Firebase (Google). We use Firebase Firestore for anonymous crowd signal storage. Firestore is subject to Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

Apple. Subscription management is handled by Apple's App Store. Apple's privacy policy applies to all purchase transactions.

4. Data Retention

Crowd signal records are automatically purged after 2 hours. No other personal data is stored on our servers.

5. Children's Privacy

Lumio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

6. Your Rights

Since we do not store personally identifiable information, there is no account to delete. You can remove all local app data by deleting Lumio from your device.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of Lumio after changes constitutes acceptance.
